1990 Carburettor Cooper

Somerford Mini do not profess to buy and sell cars as many of you will know. 

However, there is an exception to every rule and we just happen to have a gem.  As an exercise, we have decided to give a project to our new restorer to cut his teeth on.

Although Dean has spent many years in the motor trade, working in a body shop, he needed to re-acquaint himself with the charms and quirks of a Mini!

The car chosen is a 1990 carburettor Cooper.  It has never been modified and is in original condition.  Although on the surface it looked quite good, it had its fair share of corrosion and it hadn’t turned a wheel for a while.

We decided to give it the full Somerford treatment – both bodily and mechanically.  As the photos show, we are leaving no stone unturned!

Please ‘watch this space’ over the next few weeks and log the car’s progress as at the end of the project the car will be for sale.  We expect it to be completed mid-end of May.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone to beat the massive waiting list and buy a ‘Somerford Mini’.

At this stage we are not sure of the price, but we expect it to sell at £8000-£8500.
